COMMON QUESTIONS
Helpful Answers to Common Questions
Here are answers to some of the questions I hear most often.
If you don't see your question here, I'd love to talk with you.
Getting Started
-
Absolutely not.
You don't have to have everything figured out before we talk.
Whether your bookkeeping is up to date, you're months behind, or you're not sure where to begin, we'll start with where you are today. My job is to help you get back on track—not expect you to have everything figured out before we begin.
The first step is simply a conversation. During our no-obligation Discovery Call, we'll talk about your business, your goals, and any challenges you're facing. From there, we'll determine the best path forward together.
-
The Discovery Call is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and learn more about your business.
We'll talk about your business, your current bookkeeping process, any challenges you're experiencing, and what you're hoping to accomplish. It's also your opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how I work.
We'll discuss the level of support you're looking for and explore options that make sense for your business, your needs, and your budget.
The goal isn't to make a decision during the call. It's simply to learn more about each other and determine whether working together feels like the right fit. There's no pressure and no obligation.
-
Finding the right bookkeeping partner is important, and it's just as important to me as it is to you.
I work best with business owners who value collaboration, communicate openly, and are looking for a long-term bookkeeping partner—not just someone to record transactions.
The Discovery Call gives us an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss your goals, and determine whether working together feels like the right fit for both of us.
If I'm not the right fit for your needs, I'll be honest with you. My goal is to help you find the right solution for your business.
-
You're not alone.
Many business owners fall behind on their bookkeeping because they're busy running their business. It happens more often than you might think, and there's no judgment.
We'll start where you are today, understand what needs to be done, and develop a plan to get your bookkeeping back on track. Whether you're a few months behind or need more extensive cleanup, we'll work through it together one step at a time.
The important thing is getting started. Once your bookkeeping is current, it's much easier to keep it that way moving forward.
Working Together
-
No.
Every business is different, and every business owner has a different comfort level.
Together, we'll determine what makes sense for you to continue handling and what makes sense for me to take off your plate. Some clients prefer to stay involved in certain areas, while others want more comprehensive support.
As your business grows and your needs change, we can adjust my level of support over time. My goal is to provide the level of support that helps you feel confident while making running your business easier.
-
Clear communication is an important part of a successful bookkeeping partnership.
Email is my primary method of communication because it provides a written record and helps keep communication clear and organized. For urgent matters or quick questions that need a faster response, I'm also available by text.
As questions come up or your business changes, we can schedule check-in meetings whenever they're needed. Some clients prefer occasional meetings, while others are comfortable communicating primarily by email.
My goal is to communicate in a way that keeps you informed, supported, and confident that your bookkeeping is being taken care of.
-
Absolutely.
I believe the best results come from working as a team.
My role is to keep your accounting and bookkeeping accurate and up to date throughout the year so your CPA or tax professional has accurate, complete financial information when it's needed. Good communication between your financial professionals helps create a smoother, more efficient process for everyone.
If questions come up, I'm happy to work directly with your CPA or tax professional to help answer questions, provide the information they need, and keep things moving efficiently.
My goal is to support both you and your CPA or tax professional by helping keep your financial records organized year-round—not just during tax season.

Yes.
Four Paws Financial works with business owners virtually, allowing us to communicate and collaborate efficiently without needing to meet in person.
Using secure cloud-based accounting software, email, phone, text, and video meetings, we can work together wherever you're located.
Although we work virtually, my approach is always personal. Building long-term relationships, communicating openly, and being available to support my clients are just as important to me as the accounting and bookkeeping work itself.
Services

Whether you're just getting started, growing your business, or looking for a trusted accounting and bookkeeping partner, my goal is to provide support that's tailored to your business and the way you work.
If you're not sure whether your business is a good fit, I'd be happy to learn more about your business during a no-obligation Discovery Call.

TNo.
Although I'm a CPA, I intentionally chose to focus on accounting and bookkeeping rather than tax preparation.
My role is to help keep your financial records accurate and up to date throughout the year so you have accurate, complete financial information when it's time to prepare your tax return—whether you prepare it yourself or work with a CPA or tax professional.
If you work with a CPA or tax professional, I'm happy to communicate with them directly, provide the information they need, and help make the process as smooth as possible, so you don't have to act as the go-between.

I focus exclusively on QuickBooks Online because I believe it provides the best experience for collaborating virtually and providing ongoing accounting and bookkeeping support.
If you're currently using different accounting software, I can help you migrate your financial information to QuickBooks Online and make the transition as smooth as possible.
If you're just getting started, I'll help you determine the QuickBooks Online subscription that's the best fit for your business.
